In collaboration with the Salvation Army (TSA) and the School of Health Sciences (HS), 280 second-year nursing students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic had successfully conducted basic health screenings for over 800 FWs on 1st December 2024.
Each FW received a “Health Passport” documenting their blood pressure, blood glucose, and BMI readings. Additionally, the participants were also screened for mental wellness.

A cricket competition was held for all residents at Sungei Tengah Lodge (STL) on 8 Dec 2024. Sixteen teams had pre-qualified for this event. The competition took place successfully on the Roof Terrace, with many residents watching with earnest excitement. Team VKCC emerged as the champions bring home the 2024 Sungei Tengah Lodge Cricket Championship Trophy and STL Vouchers. Medals & STL Vouchers were also presented to the 2 runners up teams.

Residents were delighted by a brass band performance on Christmas Eve, featuring serenades that beautifully spread the
cheer, love and spirit of Christmas. The harmonious melodies and joyful tunes create a warm and inviting atmosphere,
bring the community together to celebrate this special occasion.

Throughout December, Pasar Malam events and Singtel Road Shows were organised on Sundays for the benefit of our residents. These events featured a vibrant marketplace
atmosphere, offering special deals on daily essentials, household items, and the latest gadgets. Residents also enjoyed exclusive offers on handphone and data subscriptions, which were very well received. The lively event not only provided great shopping opportunities but also
fostered a sense of community and excitement among the residents.

As part of the year end countdown, the event kicked off with STL Got Talent Singing Competition. Due to overwhelming response, auditions started in early December, with only 10 competitors made it to the Grand Final held on 31 December 2024. It was a highly competitive event with residents from India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand and other countries participating. Chithirai Selvan from Dragages Singapore Pte Ltd outperformed the rest and emerged as the champion, receiving $400 worth of prizemoney.

The grand finale 0f 2024 culminated in the 2024 New Year’s Eve Celebration at STL Car Park Roof Terrace. The gala event features lucky draws and famous local artiste from Mediacorp, who sang and dance to the enthusiastic crowd. A Fire Dance performance captured the audience’s magination and awe as the artiste breathed fire more than 10 feet away. Additionally, overseas artiste from India and Bangladesh were specifically invited to perform for our residents for this special occasion.
The residents were ecstatic to see their idols performing LIVE in front of their eyes. There was lively interaction between the performers and the crowd, who dances and cheer for their idols, thoroughly enjoying this special event. More than 10,000 residents turned up for this event, including other activities in and around Sungei Tengah Lodge, such as Pasar Malam and Singtel Road Show. The management of STL would like to take this opportunity to thank all residents and staff who had
spent many days in planning and executing the smooth operation on traffic and crowd management, not only in and around the roof terrace, but at all common location within Sungei Tengah Lodge.
