Chinese New Year highlights included a celebration event, a visit to Gardens by the Bay, a lion dance to mark the first business day, and a circular issued to STL tenants on A&A works.

1. Chinese New Year (CNY) Celebration

Each cluster were decorated with Chinese New Year decor

Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year) happens this year on Saturday, February 10, 2024. This year ushers in the year of the Dragon. The public holiday Sat 10, Sun 11 & Mon 12 February was an extended period and allows a longer period of rest for all. The Dragon symbolizes ambitious, energetic, and charismatic, often inspiring others with passion and enthusiasm. The Dragon character includes leadership, confidence and unafraid to take risks. We wish all Chinese, a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year.

There were decorations at all the clusters and common areas to celebrate these festivities.

2. Visit to Gardens by the Bay by STL residents

STL together with The Salvation Army on 10 Feb 2024 organised a day trip for 90 STL residents to the Garden by the Bay. The residents have an enjoyable trip. They enjoy the serenity of the environment, nature, manicured grass, trees, the exhibits and the tree sculptures. Took plenty photos and shared it with friends and their loved ones of the memorable trip. There were jostling and merry-making amongst the residents.

3. Lion Dance to mark the CNY First day of business

Lion Dance marks the 1st day of business for STLodge

13 February 2024 was the CNY First day of business for STL. The lion dance is believed to bring good luck, prosperity and happiness. Performed by a troupe of dancers wearing a lion costume. The pair of lions danced with the rousing drumming, cymbals and gongs and certainly create a lively and festive atmosphere for all our staff. The lions prance and stride into the management offices and staff desks offering blessings.

3. Oranges and CNY Celebration for Chinese

STL together with Salvation Army arranged and organise for the STL Chinese residents celebrate Chinese New Year with dances and fun games.

CNY Oranges were distributed to all residents to wish them good luck and good fortune.

4. Circular to Tenants/Residents on STL A&A Works

(A&A) Addition and Alteration works started at BLK 502 and 504

Sungei Tengah Lodge (STL) sent circulars to Tenants/Residents on STL A&A Works. The circulars state

the proposed A&A works and schedule. There were electrical works at corridor and rooms. The materials and installation of the ensuite toilets in the rooms. The schedule of works was provided in the circulars and request the affected residents to keep their valuables and to use our standby room for day rest to avoid disturbance and inconvenience to the residents during the A&A works.
